Subscribing TM.org content

Like much of web 2.0 type website already established out there, TM.org also provide a simple way to our reader to follow the story in articles, blog, snapshot or web clip without a hassle by using RSS feature.

RSS, or an abbreviation of Really Simple Syndication, is a standard protocol of sending a special standard format of XML from our website to client side, so the client can read the content of TM.org website without even has to go to the website itself.
Much of today modern browser like Mozilla Firefox, Opera version 8 above, or Microsoft IE7 have built in feature to presenting the RSS in a well constructed layout. (Unfortunately, IE6 is not so modern browser in our opinion). There are also several stand alone program dedicated for being a RSS reader, thus the name RSS reader software created.

Type of Subscription

When we decided to have RSS feature in the first place, one thing for sure is we want the reader to be able to read whole article in RSS format but without hurting the page-view or hits. So to balance the whole thing, we decided to kept our promise not to truncated the content in main articles RSS, but with some trade off.

If you subscribing to main articles RSS only, you will have a full body of articles.But if you subscribing to our second RSS, the one that cover the whole part of the site, you will have an truncated content.

This way, we still can live up our promise, but in the same time, we (hopefully) can keep the page view, by attracting people to go to the website through exposing the whole area.
